Intro
Let's get away from who we think we are And the things we cannot do Look into the mirror and pretend you're me And I'll pretend I am you Take a little sunshine Give a little teardrop Everybody needs to love someone Even in the silence You can listen to the rhythm And have a little dance around the circle of the sun Even in the silence You can listen to the rhythm Have a little dance around the circle of the sun Dance around the circle of Dance around the circle of Dance around the circle of the sun We've already got what we've been looking for Yeah, we've already won the race Don't overrate it, overcomplicate it There's never been a better way Take a little sunshine Give a little teardrop Everybody needs to love someone Even in the silence You can listen to the rhythm And have a little dance around the circle of the sun Light a fire when the sun goes down Light a fire to see Don't wait 'til the light goes out Don't wait for me Even in the silence You can listen to the rhythm And have a little dance around the circle of the sun Dance around the circle of Dance around the circle of Dance around the circle of the sun Dance around the circle of Dance around the circle of Dance around the circle of the sun Let's get away from who we think we are And the things we cannot do Even in the silence Even in the silence Even in the silence Even in the silence, silence Take a little sunshine Give a little teardrop Everybody needs to love someone Even in the silence You can listen to the rhythm And have a little dance around the circle of the sun

Chorus (All Sing) Take me through the night Fall into the dark side We don't need the light We'll live on the dark side I see it, let's feel it While we're still young and fearless Let go of the light Fall into the dark side Fall into the dark side Give into the dark side Oo--, Oo--, Oo---- Let go of the light Fall into the dark side Instrumental Break Believe it, I see it I know that you can feel it No secrets worth keeping So fool me like I'm dreaming Chorus (All Sing) Take me through the night Fall into the dark side We don't need the light We'll live on the dark side I see it, let's feel it While we're still young and fearless Let go of the light Fall into the dark side Fall into the dark side Give into the dark side Oo--, Oo--, Oo---- Let go of the light Fall into the dark side. Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before Let it fill the air Tell the people everywhere We, the people here, don't want a war. We’re grateful for the equal rights you’ve given us Immigrants and citizens all the same I just want to be someone known to you and me And I will bet my life you want the same. Come and sing a simple song of freedom Sing it like you've never sung before Let it fill the air Tell the people everywhere We, the people here, don't want a war. Thank you for the freedom we have here We just want to live our lives in peace The cost you paid to give us, this freedom was dear We wish the sacrifice will soon cease Come and sing a simple song of freedom Sing it like you've never sung before Let it fill the air Tell the people everywhere We, the people here, don't want a war. I say … let it fill the air … Tellin' people everywhere … We, the people here, don't want a war. We, the people here, don't want a war. We've recently been learning some stick games traditionally played by children of the Maori people in New Zealand. All classes are learning the moves to the song "E Papa Waiari" and are also inventing their own rhythm patterns. This song is in 3/4 time, meaning that beats are grouped in 3's like a waltz. To make up your own pattern you need one strong beat followed by two weak beats. Ask your child to show you one! The Maori sticks are easy to make. All you need are 2 magazines (I like the free Homes & Land you find in boxes around the city), some masking tape, and a little duct tape. Roll the magazine tightly, secure it with masking tape so it doesn't unroll, and then cover it with duct tape to make it last. Try making 4 so that you can try clicking sticks with a partner! I was following the pack all swaddled in their coats With scarves of red tied ‘round their throats To keep their little heads from freezing in the snow And I turned ‘round and there you go And Michael you would turn And make the air smell sweet as strawberries in the summertime. Standing Strong and True (for Tomorrow)
Verse 1 I hear the guns I feel the fire, With my last breath my spirit flies And-I see the faces of my friends, Fighting till the end So many fearless hearts. Verse 2 I feel their courage and their pain, Their lives should never be in vain. From heaven’s gate a perfect youth A plain and simple truth Is lighting up the dark. Chorus Love one another that stranger is your brother Leave a footprint, everywhere you go Keep yesterday for giving, today just for living Say a prayer every night for tomorrow Verse 3 I pray the past can teach us all, Before another hero falls Before another mother cries, forever asking why (Why oh why) Chorus Can't we love one another that stranger is your brother Leave a footprint everywhere you go Keep yesterday for giving, today just for living Say a prayer every night for tomorrow Bridge Standing strong and true, on guard for me and you Standing strong and true, on guard for me and you Chorus So we can love one another that stranger is your brother Leave a footprint everywhere you go Keep yesterday for giving, today just for living Say a prayer every night for tomorrow Outro Bless the true believers Who stand and fight for freedom So we can live in peace right here at home Keep yesterday for giving, today just for living Say a prayer every night for tomorrow Say a prayer every night for tomorrow |
